Regarding Delinquent Property Tax Bills

NOTICE TO HOPKINS COUNTY TAXPAYERS

Keenan Woodruff, Hopkins County Clerk, pursuant to KRS 424.130 announces that the 2025 Delinquent Real Property Tax Bills (Certificates of Delinquency) and the Delinquent 2022 Unmined Coal Tax Bills are posted on the website(s) HopkinsCountyClerk.com and HopkinsCounty.Ky.gov.  The list of Certificates of Delinquency is also available for public inspection during the hours of 8:30-3:30 at the office of the Hopkins County Clerk located at 24 Union St. Madisonville, KY. 

The tax sale will be held on September 14, 2026 beginning at 10:00am.  All interested participants must register with the County Clerk’s office by the close of business (4pm) on September 04, 2026. 

Please contact the County Clerk’s office if you need additional information regarding the tax sale registration process, the required registration fee or any additional amounts that may be required.  Taxpayers may continue to pay their delinquent tax bills at the County Clerk’s office any time prior to the tax sale.

After the Tax Sale has been conducted, please contact the tax office to inquire about the eligibility/total amount due. Incorrect payment amounts will be returned. No Exceptions. Some delinquencies – although they have been advertised – will be excluded from the tax sale in accordance with the provisions of KRS 134.504(10)(b).
